Louis-François Biloul, born in Paris (1874), was a painter of portraits, nudes, still lifes and flowers. He was a student under the painter Jean-Joseph ou Benjamin Constant (1845-1902), a representative of the Orientalist school - and painter and sculptor Jean-Paul Laurens (1839-1921). Biloul exhibited his portraits and nudes at the Salon des Artistes Français between 1900 and 1938. As a 'sociétaire' et 'hors-concours', he obtained a Médaille de Troisième Class (3rd Class Medal) in 1904, a medal Médaille de Deuxième Classe (2nd Class Medal) in 1904, the price "Prix Henner" in 1912 and 1925, and the medal "Médaille d’Honneur"("Honorable Medal") in 1927. He became the recipient of France’s highest civilian honour, "Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur" in 1926 and "officier"("officer") in 1935. He was a member of the committee and jury of the Société des Artistes Français.
